Happy Hours Perfect For Your Next First Date

Folks, we are in the middle of cuffing season, and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner you might be doing a little more swiping right these days. RVA Happy Hours dedicates their first blog post to recommendations for the best and most affordable HH spots to take your first date!

River City Roll (Scott’s Addition)

Are you the type who gets nervous about awkward silences over dinner, ESPECIALLY on a first date. For this scenario, I recommend a date with activities to break up the awkward small talk and give you something to do! River City Roll is one of the many game focused places in Scott’s Addition, but I suggest this spot in particular because it’s a little more of an intimate setting for you and your date by having a bowling lane all to yourself.

Happy Hour Deals: Monday-Friday 3-7pm. $5 classic cocktails, $3 select wine, $4 select drafts.

RVA Happy Hours Tip: go on a Monday for $10 hourly lane rentals + $20 for 3 course menu.

Bar Solita (Downtown)

Want something that feels a little more upscale without the upscaled prices? Bar Solita has a large swanky space downtown that will have your date thinking you’re spoiling them. A great perk to this location is that there are several other cool spots in walking distance that are also first date friendly!

Happy Hour Deals: Monday-Friday 4-7pm. $3 draft Narragansett, $6 wine, $6 craft cocktails, $4-6 select food items.

RVA Happy Hours Tip: Go on the first Friday of the month and go on an art walk around the downtown area to show your date you are a real classy mate. (Look up “RVA First Fridays” for more info)
